Wow today was full. - more on Twitter

The Regional Gossip arm of Gawker Media finally gets a San Francisco outpost - Valleywag - focused on, of course, the Silicon Valley brat pack. It’s being written by ex-(?)Blogebrity writer Nick Douglas, which seems appropriate. I like that Gawker’s metro gossip blogs are themed after their cities (though, really Nick, where’s our gay SF gossip blog?), both because it makes the blogs useful to non-natives and because it prevents Gawker from crushing the local blog networks with it’s mighty sarcasm.

Fun fact from the Valleywag front page: did you know that Marisa Mayer (who I always associate with Queen Kong in When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth) used to date Larry Page? Fascinating! I can’t wait to see what effect Valleywag has on industry deals. Defamer forever altered the Hollywood balance of power in favor of the un-rich and non-powerful; I wonder if Valleywag will do the same for tech.
