London

London’s been hit by a series of explosions on public transport, including busses and the tube. A terrorist group is claiming responsibility, and depending on who you hear it from, it may be related to the Olympics or G8 or both. The majority of the tube attacks were clustered in the northeast, right around where I lived when I was in London. (Some reports say that my old tube station, Old Town, was right where one bomb went off, some say it was several of the adjacent stations.) That freaks me out considerably more than it ought, I think. It was not a well-off neighborhood, and pretty much devoid of tourists.

Thankfully Phil and Mary, the only people I know in the area, are fine.

Wikinews has great coverage, including a map of the tube stations affected.
