Blue Cross USPS Spam

I’m being spammed by snail mail!

Blue Cross USPS Spam

I just received nine (9) copies of the exact same documents from my health insurance company, Blue Cross of California (pictured above). This is on top of the two (2) copies I’ve already received. When I got the first duplicate, I assumed it had to do with my change in account numbers in 2004. But apparently not. No, Blue Cross has seen if fit to spam me via the US Postal Service, at a cost to them of $0.60 per piece of mail. And, of course, the documents are nothing serious, just letting me know that the rates are increasing slightly in March.

I’m amused by this. Has this happened to anyone else? I’ll keep a running tally here, in case the postal-spam keeps pouring in.

Number of 2005 rate-change documents mailed to Adam by Blue Cross:

  • Tuesday 1/25 =1
  • Wednesday 1/26 = 1
  • Thursday 1/27 = 9
  • Saturday 1/29 = 1

TOTAL = 12
