@fixx Thanks, looks pretty good, but we're looking for something hosted and pay-by-the month. You should really consider both of those. - more on Twitter

Chasing Windmills

I’ve been watching Chasing Windmills for the past few weeks, and vacillated on how I felt about it, but today’s episode cinched my opinion. CW is a daily video blog, but unlike most of what you’ve probably seen, it’s fictional, and shot like a well-made indie film. (The only other purely fictional vlogs I watch are all animated, interestingly.) It’s about the relationship between a young couple, and has recently (well, since I’ve been watching, anyway) centered around their new pregnancy. I haven’t seen any actors besides the two main characters appear yet.

I’ve had a varied response to the episodes so far - they’re all well produced and written, but a couple were just a little too mundane for me. Overall, though, the quality was excellent and I was interested enough to give the characters a chance to grow on me.

I get the 3-5 minute episodes from iTunes daily, and usually watch it on my iPod at lunch. Today, I watched it right after I got back, which is a good thing, because it was so profoundly upsetting that I’m not sure I could have eaten afterwards. The last minute shocked and devastated me in the way that only something you’re aware of but avoid thinking about can. Go watch the last 3-4 episodes, leading up to today’s, for context, but do watch it.

  1. I dunno. Seems a little extreme. Maybe you have to know the characters to want to watch this series. I must give them props for attempting something so dramatic with a video blog which is usually reserved for watching people go yard sale shopping. Hey check out my first few attempts:
